John C. Wister Rhododendron Garden, Tyler Arboretum
50 years after Dr. Wister first began assembling more than 700 varieties of rhododendrons and azaleas at Tyler Arboretum, the new John C. Wister Rhododendron Garden will offer the definitive Delaware Valley collection of plants in the genus Rhododendron. Flowering azaleas will occupy a semi-circular bowl in the center of the garden, with taller evergreen rhododendrons framing spaces in the surrounding outer ring. (Note that the Meadow Maze is adjacent to the Rhododendron Garden. Together they will provide a major new destination for Tyler's visitors.)
