Enchanted Woods
Winterthur Museum Garden & Library, Winterthur, Delaware
Surrounded by H. F. du Pont's masterpiece of horticultural design, the Winterthur Garden, Enchanted Woods is the first major addition to the garden since the 1960's. Conceived by Winterthur garden staff as a "garden of fairies and woodland spirits," it was designed to attract new audiences including children and families. Meandering through the center of Enchanted Woods is the S-s-s-serpentine Path, with plantings on either side that reflect the major planting themes in the surrounding Winterthur garden.
