I found a Victorian fairy painting that showed the king and queen of the fairies sitting in a hummingbird's nest, so we made a giant nest to hold the kids (below). Above left: the fundraising drawing for the Giant Bird's Nest. Right: the nest has a permanent metal framework, and every other year Winterthur's arborist reweaves the nest with cut beech branches.
