A south-facing woodland edge along a narrow stream presents a unique habitat of moisture and sun, especially vibrant in the fall. Strong verticals of pond cypress (Taxodium ascendens 'Prairie Sentinel') play against colorful horizontal bands of moisture loving shrubs.
